The itinerary starts from Palazzo Pubblico, which is one of the best examples of Gothic civil architecture still visible in Italy and represents the political power in the city. Imposing and elegant, it is flanked by the Torre del Mangia and overlooks Torre del Mangia  and overlooks Pia shell, which has always been the heart of Siena and the Sienese. In the rooms inside it can be appreciated i artistic and manufacturing masterpieces of the fourteenth and fifteenth century Senese, many commissioned by the government of Siena to affirm and celebrate their contributions to post-unification Italy fruit of the genius of important Sienese artists and sculptors of the nineteenth century. The visit continues to discover the ancient hospital of Siena, il Santa Maria della Scala, whose doors for more than a thousand years "had no lock": it is one of the oldest places of care of the West as well as a destination for numerous pilgrims and travelers during the Middle Ages, today museum. Economic engine and source of wealth and sustenance for medieval Siena, it enchants visitors with its large  completely frescoed environments  during the course of 1400, important and unique testimonies for the history of Western medicine, and again for its lavishly decorated oratories, precious reliquaries, underground passages, the archaeological museum and much more. Impossible not to be surprised by its size:  40.000 m2 on 7 levels ... a city within a city just waiting to be discovered!
